Building a Strong Community

Today the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce hosted the annual Business Recognition Luncheon and Showcase to honor and recognize a variety of local businesses. There were a total of six awards presented, with over 15 companies that were nominated.

DeLeers Construction and DeLeers Millwork were announced as the recipients of the Cornerstone Business Award, which is given to companies that play an active role in the local business community, business associations, volunteer groups, and have demonstrated growth. Past recipients include Howard Immel, Inc., PTS Contractors, Inc., and Insurance Associates of Green Bay Inc.

The award came as a total surprise to Phillip and Jerry DeLeers, brothers and current owners of both companies. The DeLeers family and team members were recognized for all of their hard work, including the third generation of sons whom will one day run the company.

As a locally owned family business, DeLeers was started by Joseph DeLeers in 1945 after he returned home to Green Bay, as one of the hundreds of thousands of servicemen returning from World War II. With the quick population rise, DeLeers soon recognized the need for larger homes to comfortably raise families.

To expand its services, DeLeers Construction started manufacturing custom cabinets in the DeLeers family basement for all DeLeers Construction projects. In 1979, DeLeers Millwork officially became a separate identity, and has considerably grown since.

With 2008 sales 20 percent higher than the previous year, DeLeers attributes its success to working hand-in-hand with general contractors, construction companies and architects to provide quality products, services and prices that generate rewarding conversations.

The business values and principles within the DeLeers companies have not changed for over 60 years.  DeLeers is committed to striking a balance between the environment, society and economic development in all aspects of its business. DeLeers is committed to maintaining the environment, and to help its customers reduce energy waste, lower operating costs, and support healthier environments.

The Business Recognition Luncheon and Showcase is held each June during Small Business Week. This year’s event was hosted by Hotel Sierra in Green Bay.

Congrats DeLeers! As the AE of the account, I felt like a proud parent! You deserve it!
