Public Relations Specialist

Element, a full-service advertising, web development, digital marketing, and public relations agency in De Pere and Neenah WI, is looking for a knock-our-socks-off PR pro. The public relations account specialist is responsible for the overall strategy and tactical execution for assigned clients. You’ll be expected to become fully familiar with products, markets, and media in which assigned clients operate in order to efficiently, effectively deal with clients’ public relations needs.

Reports to the Director of Public Relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare public relations plans and strategies based on client goals and objectives.
  • Research and maintain client media contact lists. Perform ongoing media relations activities to maximize earned media opportunities for clients.
  • Coordinate media interviews for assigned clients and provide media training as necessary.
  • Write a wide-range of PR copy including press releases, media alerts, story pitches, and client talking points.
  • Read industry news and trends for assigned clients and use this information to create new PR opportunities.
  • Prepare project briefs and work with agency content writers and the creative department to produce PR articles as well as art and photography to support the story.
  • Work with the social media team to maximize PR opportunities for assigned clients. Prepare client meeting agendas, project status reports, and quarterly analysis reports.
  • Regularly brief the account team on the status of PR project activities.
  • Plan special events such as grand openings, anniversary celebrations, and product launches.
  • Represent the agency at industry functions and promote the agency at every opportunity.

Qualifications:

  • More than 3 years of experience in public relations or strategic communications.
  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or marketing.
  • Experience with CisionPoint is a plus.
  • Media relations experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of public relations practices, tactics, and strategies.
  • Highly organized and capable of working in a deadline-driven environment.

Digital Media Planner/Buyer

Our digital media planner/buyer is responsible for strategy development, placement, and analysis of multiple paid digital media campaigns. Candidates must have a strong background in Google AdWords, Facebook Ad Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Bing Ads, and content syndication platforms. This position is responsible for creating the most efficient and fine-tuned ways to reach or exceed our clients’ business goals using a variety of paid digital media tactics, ranging from traditional display to social influencers. Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of digital media planning and buying experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, advertising, or marketing
  • Holistic understanding digital marketing, including SEO, social media, marketing automation, etc.
  • Ability to solve problems proactively, not reactively
  • Organizational skills that would put Marie Kondo to shame
  • Solid copywriting skills
  • Ability to analyze data and provide strategic insights going beyond clicks and impressions
  • Extreme knowledge of all major SEM and social media advertising platforms (see above!)
  • Nerd-like passion for crunching numbers and reconciling media invoices
  • Hunger for digging into the details … and pizza
  • Innate aptitude to take ownership and responsibility of all assigned projects
  • Strategic mind with the ability to create digital media plans to support client sales goals
  • Background in marketing to B2B and B2C audiences
  • Ability to clearly explain online advertising options to account service team members and clients
  • Ninja-like research skills to make detailed and accurate paid media budget recommendations
  • Provide general support to the Director of Digital Marketing

Not Required, But Extra Points For:

  • Experience with a variety of marketing automation systems, including SharpSpring and Hubspot
  • Knowledge of a variety of website content management systems, including WordPress and Joomla
  • Familiarity with creative software, including Photoshop and After Effects
  • Previous advertising agency experience
  • Understanding of DSP and/or ATD technology … NBD, right?

Content Marketing Specialist

The role of the content marketing specialist will be to research, write and develop engaging and relevant content across multiple communication channels and social platforms. They will assist in the development and execution of an overall content strategy while producing high-quality short, medium and long-form copy that incorporates best practices for digital use.

The content marketing specialist position will be located at our Neenah office.

Key Functional Areas of Responsibility

  • Research, write and edit copy for a variety of content including but not limited to: blogs, press releases, social media, websites and email.
  • Develop a distinct and unique tone of voice for each client and brand.
  • Determine the most impactful way to re-purpose content for a variety of channels.
  • Analyze campaign results using social media monitoring tools and make recommendations to maximize the effectiveness of the campaigns.
  • Work with the creative team to develop visual assets.
  • Collaborate with SEO/SEM Analyst to ensure content meets established SEO guidelines, implementing keyword research and optimization recommendations into content pieces.
  • Perform ongoing research on industry trends to maintain fresh and relevant perspective in all communications.
  • Interact with various agency teams to ensure successful client outcomes.
  • Be responsible for editing all copy and overseeing the proofing process for the content marketing team.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience as a writer, public relations professional, marketing communications specialist, journalist or editor.
  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or marketing.
  • A passion for writing and a journalistic approach to story ideation and creation.
  • Have a general understanding of marketing fundamentals and strategies.
  • Understand the fundamentals of conducting research and interviews.
  • Have a thirst for knowledge and be comfortable working with unfamiliar industries and audiences.
  • Proficient knowledge of content marketing practices, tactics and strategies.
  • Extensive experience with copywriting and editing for marketing campaigns.
  • A strong understanding and experience using WordPress CMS.
  • Experience using Photoshop to modify, resize and create web friendly images.
  • A working knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, WebTrends)
  • Understanding of SEO and keyword optimization.
  • Be a very strong editor and proofreader with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to multi-task and solve problems.
