WordPress Developer / Front-End Web Developer

Can you develop responsive sites with a dynamic CMS? Do you create great user experiences from front-end to back-end? Excited about working with a creative team and learning new technologies? If so, keep reading!

The ideal Web Developer candidate has expert knowledge of web layout via HTML+CSS, is comfortable with JQuery, prefers WordPress for content management, has polished troubleshooting skills, great communication skills, and experience working in all relevant applications. You must possess superior visual conceptual skills and the ability to develop effective websites and web applications for a variety of clients. Not too much to ask, right?

Responsibilities:

  • Help establish and maintain the highest possible standards of interactive materials produced by the agency.
  • Adhere to best practices in programming and testing cross-browser, cross-platform, and cross-device compatibility
  • Take direction, go beyond what is asked, and constantly challenge yourself
  • Understand the importance of design in creating on-brand, emotionally compelling user experiences and strive to deliver websites with high quality design and interactivity.
  • Meet established deadlines or provide reasonable notice to the production department of special circumstances requiring deadline extension.
  • Periodically review web development trends and recommend improvements to tools and processes.
  • Please love what you do, as this position will require a strong sense of ownership. Confidence in your work is a must, we are looking for someone that can really bring their skill set to the table and define a place for themselves in our workflow. Organizational skills and an eye for detail are givens.

Desired Skills, Attributes, and Experience:

  • 2+ years experience in WordPress and/or Front-End web development
  • Highly proficient in converting custom PSD design comps into responsive websites via hand-coded HTML5/CSS/JS/JQuery.
  • Proficient with PHP and MySQL
  • Experienced with WordPress, including implementing complete custom themes from a boilerplate or blank canvas theme.
  • Have a passion for doing work of the highest quality.
  • Experience working with Version Control – git experience a plus.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, creative ad agency environment.
  • Comfortable setting up and maintaining your own Apache/PHP/MySql development environment including customizations to httpd.conf, php.ini and .htaccess
  • Understanding of good code documentation practices and tools
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, test and debug other people’s code
  • Solid foundation of design fundamentals including: typography, color, and layout
  • Experience with SASS a plus
  • Knowledge of Adobe’s Creative Suite

Paid Digital Media Specialist

Our paid digital media specialist is responsible for placement and analysis of multiple paid digital media campaigns. Candidates must have a strong background in Google AdWords, Facebook Ad Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Bing Ads, and other applicable platforms. This position is responsible for creating the most efficient and fine-tuned ways to reach or exceed our clients’ business goals using a variety of paid digital media tactics, ranging from traditional display to social influencers. Public Relations Specialist

Element, a full-service advertising, web development, digital marketing, and public relations agency in De Pere and Neenah WI, is looking for a knock-our-socks-off PR pro. The public relations account specialist is responsible for the overall strategy and tactical execution for assigned clients. You’ll be expected to become fully familiar with products, markets, and media in which assigned clients operate in order to efficiently, effectively deal with clients’ public relations needs.

Reports to the Director of Public Relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare public relations plans and strategies based on client goals and objectives.
  • Research and maintain client media contact lists. Perform ongoing media relations activities to maximize earned media opportunities for clients.
  • Coordinate media interviews for assigned clients and provide media training as necessary.
  • Write a wide-range of PR copy including press releases, media alerts, story pitches, and client talking points.
  • Read industry news and trends for assigned clients and use this information to create new PR opportunities.
  • Prepare project briefs and work with agency content writers and the creative department to produce PR articles as well as art and photography to support the story.
  • Work with the social media team to maximize PR opportunities for assigned clients. Prepare client meeting agendas, project status reports, and quarterly analysis reports.
  • Regularly brief the account team on the status of PR project activities.
  • Plan special events such as grand openings, anniversary celebrations, and product launches.
  • Represent the agency at industry functions and promote the agency at every opportunity.

Qualifications:

  • More than 3 years of experience in public relations or strategic communications.
  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or marketing.
  • Experience with CisionPoint is a plus.
  • Media relations experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Content Marketing Specialist

  • Determine the most impactful way to re-purpose content for a variety of channels.
  • Analyze campaign results using social media monitoring tools and make recommendations to maximize the effectiveness of the campaigns.

  • Collaborate with SEO/SEM Analyst to ensure content meets established SEO guidelines, implementing keyword research and optimization recommendations into content pieces.
  • Perform ongoing research on industry trends to maintain fresh and relevant perspective in all communications.
  • Interact with various agency teams to ensure successful client outcomes.
  • Be responsible for editing all copy and overseeing the proofing process for the content marketing team.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience as a writer, public relations professional, marketing communications specialist, journalist or editor.
  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or marketing.
  • A passion for writing and a journalistic approach to story ideation and creation.
  • Have a general understanding of marketing fundamentals and strategies.
  • Understand the fundamentals of conducting research and interviews.
  • Have a thirst for knowledge and be comfortable working with unfamiliar industries and audiences.
  • Proficient knowledge of content marketing practices, tactics and strategies.
  • Extensive experience with copywriting and editing for marketing campaigns.
